About Ministry of the Economy and Innovation
of the Republic of Lithuania

Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania is a government department of the Republic of Lithuania. Its mission is to develop positive legal and economic environment for economic development and ensure public welfare and employment. The Ministry oversees various government functions, including business environment management, investment facilitation, export promotion, innovation initiatives, reforming State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) for increased efficiency and transparency, administering EU support funds for economic development, ensuring an efficient and transparent public procurement system, and managing tourism policies.

The Challenges

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation, located in the city center, encountered challenges arising from limited parking spaces. With significantly fewer parking spots than  employees, commuting to the office became challenging for the staff. In response, the Ministry sought to address this issue with an innovative and convenient solution.

Additionally, the Ministry offered three meeting rooms and three acoustic rooms for meetings or quiet work. However, only some were available for reservation through the Outlook calendar system, leading to a lack of proper visibility. This absence of clarity posed challenges for employees needing available spaces for impromptu meetings or focused work.

Parking management

Implementing a parking management system seemed the most effective alternative to address the challenge of limited parking spaces. The Ministry opted for the TableAir solution, which allows all employees to reserve a specific parking spot on a realistic parking map in advance, ensuring they have a designated space upon arriving at the office. The parking booking solution was adapted to meet specific customer needs – users have different priorities when choosing their parking spots. The TableAir solution was integrated with the Ministry’s Microsoft platforms for a more convenient single sign-on login and user management. Following the implementation, the TableAir support team conducted training sessions for all employees, guiding them on how to use the system and familiarizing them with its features.

The next step was to improve the visibility of meeting and acoustic room availability. The Ministry implemented a meeting room booking system with Microsoft Outlook integration. All rooms could be reserved directly from the TableAir website dashboard, mobile application, or Microsoft Outlook. Each room is equipped with a meeting room display that indicates room availability from a distance and gives the flexibility to book or cancel the room on the spot.

I‘m proud that TableAir provides a smart office solution for the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania. It’s great to see how the Ministry seeks innovative ways to improve processes and employee satisfaction. I was impressed by their professionalism and goal-oriented approach from the very beginning,” says Giedrius Gervickas, CEO at TableAir.

The parking space reservation system implemented in the Ministry of Economy and Innovation allowed solving the employees' challenges with arrival and parking. Previously, upon arriving at the office, employees did not know if they would find a free space in the parking lot or if they would have to pay for parking in the blue zone. Equally important is the fact that this decision also contributed to promoting the use of sustainable mobility services by employees in the city of Vilnius - now, employees can choose another way of traveling to work, knowing in advance the availability of the parking lot. Meanwhile, the reservation system for acoustic and meeting rooms brought more clarity and definition to daily work. We are grateful to the TableAir team for the high-quality services provided.
